Every stitch, every fiber, every stroke, she painstakingly carved out of wood.
Her gallery, 呂美麗精雕藝術館 or The Mary Leu Fine Arts Carving Gallery was one of the highlights of our trip when we were in Yilan, Taiwan.
Forgive me, Mary for taking these pictures but I hope more people will visit your gallery when they see them.
Wood? Really? AMAZING! Thank you for sharing her works with us, dear Sam!
ReplyDeleteHugs and kisses
This is most amazing. Did you touch to make sure? I wouldn't be able not to.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing.
Hugs, Drora
Drora, they were all exhibited behind glass cases. I wasn't even supposed to take photographs! But I knew friends like you will be interested. Actually , I find no photography in museums quite anachronistic. But who am I to say ? LOL
ReplyDeleteEwalina, I watched a video of her working. It truly was amazing how she carved the towel. Every single tick, bit by bit. Now, that is LOVE!
ReplyDeleteAmazing!!! I thought at first it was going to be clay---to be carved out of wood did not even enter my thoughts! I tried woodcarving once and I am in great awe and appreciation of these works of art- can you imagine the love and pain involved in making these? You know that her back must hurt at times- such intricate work!! Thanks so much for sharing this Sans ♥
